Working in the area

North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT) delivers an extensive range of children’s services with lots of opportunities in the borough including: community paediatrics, physiotherapy, audiology and speech and language.

Adult services cover a range of specialisms with some exciting roles including: cardiac care, cancer therapies, community health and social care, as well as a large district nursing service providing 24 hour care to housebound service users. 

With being closely aligned with Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospital Trust (BHRUT) our community and mental health service undertake a lot of innovation to support the Health and Social Care system.

Havering are hosts to London AHP services and are closely aligned to the work of the NEL CCG transformation boards and as a result see large scale innovation (implementing a community FEES clinic in SLT / Implementing Moleculite in Podiatry / Implementing care Pathway Transformation with partners in MSK). Havering also hosts regional services including the Regional Prosthetic service and Child Health Information Services.

With such close proximity to central London and excellent transport links, Havering is full of suburban character but within easy reach of the big cities. It’s an easy commute to surrounding areas by car or public transport with well established links and routes.

With miles of cycle paths and scenic routes through parks and open spaces, the borough is a great place to ride your bike when commuting to and from work or school.

Havering has an overwhelming amount to offer; from a thriving cultural quarter with theatres, museums and an arts centre, to 2,000 acres of open space, nature reserves, play areas and outdoor gyms, Havering has something for everyone.

There is a tremendous variety of leisure opportunities to enjoy: including many miles of walking and cycling routes and a range of sports and pastimes on offer. 

The development of a new leisure centre is planned in the near future which will incorporate an ice rink, swimming pool and leisure facilities.
